WHAT:  5th grade students take part in a week-long outdoor ed adventure at Yosemite National Park focusing on studies in earth and life science, cultural history, environmental issues and scientific service projects

WHY:  hands-on and experiential learning solidifies understanding; activities framed around exploring the natural world help develop interest in and appreciation for the environment; camp structure promotes personal growth
