WHAT:  6th grade scientists explore the great Space Race, teach others and launch individually designed rockets during annual Astrogation Week

WHY:  Strengthening understanding of scientific history and the current state of space exploration efforts; involving students in design thinking and iteration processes; practicing basic rocket science skills; offering opportunities to creatively demonstrate understanding and apply knowledge; sharing learning with an authentic audience connects classroom work to the real world
