WHAT:  5th graders engage in a lively retelling of our nation’s beginnings as they “Walk Through the Revolution!”

WHY:  Strengthening understanding of events and important figures in colonial, pre-Revolution, Revolutionary war times;  exploring the establishment of 13 original colonies and the impact on American Indian nations;  reinforcing political, religious and economic ideas/interests that brought about the Revolution;  highlighting the significance of drafting and signing the Declaration of Independence; fostering cooperation, recall and critical thinking
