WHAT:  7th grade detectives participate in an interactive crime scene activity as part of their “CSI” elective

WHY:  Learning to use “soft eyes” to look for clues; practicing the ability to see both big picture and small details; offering interest-based classes engages all students in learning; creating space for students to exercise autonomy and explore personal interests; providing added opportunities for teacher creativity; strengthening student-teacher relationships; attending to the needs of adolescents
