WHAT:  8th grade students share information and background about the Black authors whose writing has inspired them over the course of Black History Month

WHY:  Celebrating Black authors; using YA literature to develop a broader view of humanity; learning about struggles and triumphs; leaning in to the unsettling truths about race and racism in America; supporting adolescents in visualizing ways to forge an antiracist future
