WHAT:  6th grade scientists explore the great Space Race, teach others and launch individually designed rockets during annual Astrogation Week

WHY:  Strengthening understanding of scientific history, the current state of space exploration efforts and basic rocket science skills; involving students in design thinking and iteration processes; cross-discipline, integrated tasks engage learners; offering opportunities to creatively demonstrate understanding and apply knowledge; sharing learning with an authentic audience connects classroom work to the real world
